family =)

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about my family’s reunion. I’m very close with them, we see us every week, with my two families (mom and dad’s family). But the last we have with my two families together it was for my birthday, about two weeks ago. It was in my home and there was too much people!! Like 50 persons, all my cousins, uncles, my grandparents, the boyfriends and girlfriends of my cousins, and my parents and brothers.

We had a very good time, and we ate tacos! And it was excellent! I love tacos! And I think that everyone in my house too, because everybody ate a lot, nothing been left over. And then we ate birthday cake! I couldn’t eat more.

Something very beautiful that happens, its that I have two cousins who are pregnant, so we talk a lot with them, and they are very exciting to have their kids, and me too! I want they born fast! I have all ready a cousin that have a baby, and she is so pretty! It is too small! I only want that all my cousins and brothesr have a lot of babys, juju!

winter break

I just come back from my Winter break and it was very funny, I had a very good time and I did very exciting things that I´ll never forget.

I went to the North of Chile with my boyfriend, we visited so much interesting places, we know the dessert, and it was awesome. We went to Iquique,  La Tirana, Pica, San Pedro de Atacama and Punta de Choros, it was very beautiful, and we travelled with our backpacks and we transport “doing finger”, that it means that people in the highway take us and leave us in some other place, so that give us a lot of interesting experiences, we travelled with truck drivers  and a lot of people.

In La Tirana we went to the party of La Tirana, it was beautiful, there are a lot of dances and it was full of people that goes to see the virgin, it was so nice, and I think it was the most wonderfull of the vacations.

At the end of the trip we went to the beach where are all our friends, so there was the perfect ending, we have a very good time,  we was 12 so it was very fun all the time! It was like a real party every night.

education

There is a serious problem in our country, and is the education. We know the extremely differences in the quality between public schools (or private here) and municipal schools. The first ones are very expensive so a little part of Chile can pay for it, and the second ones are for everyone but they are bad quality.

Nowadays the education is an economic commodity, and depends on the money that you have what education you can receive. That is very wear, because the education is a right, but the government doesn’t understand that.

The problem with this big difference, it is if someone born poor, receive a bad education, can’t go to university, so it is not going to have a good salary, so still been poor. And in the same way with rich people, receive a very good education, can go to university and have good jobs with good salaries. The education invest in the big social difference of our country, this vicious circle benefit the actual rich people, who are the same who run this country, and I don’t understand if they don’t want to change this situation because they could been badly affected or it is because they don’t care because they are not affected with the problem.

In the lasts years this problem show up in the awareness of Chilean people, especially young people, students of school and university, but we don’t see too much changes in the system. We still have high tuition and everyone ends the university in debt for a lot of years.

I know that it can’t be any change from one day to another, but we still have the hope that it can change from the futures generations, we only have to still trying, but everybody is to disappointing and tired that the force that this movement have in 2011 it’s been losing. But this could change!

We had seen a video who shows the reality in Saudi Arabia respect role gender of women, the case is a woman who drives in public space (which is prohibit) and dared to fight to the rights of women to be equal to men. Finally, the woman told that she made it, she broke the taboo of women who drives, but she have to pass for hard things like, go to the jail, discrimination of their pairs, among others.

She didn’t change her culture, but she did it more open to equal respect to women. The Muslim culture it’s very traditionalistic and conservative, they have to many rules that they have to respect, but it’s their culture, and it is not the idea to change it and convert it to the occidental culture.

Nowadays we think they are crazies to do some things, because our culture it is totally different, and it is a problem from occidental culture to try to westernize everybody (and we are made it), so I think that we can’t do judgments to another countries who act different than our self.

Also, I don’t saying that I agree with this people, I tell this like a woman, we are the same like men, we can do the same things, so I want to everybody in the world apply this respect. In Muslim countries, women can’t be alone in the street, and it’s negatively perceived acts of relationship in public. And I think that is terrible to woman, they can’t do whatever they want (in the good sense) they lives repressed by the society, and they self defend the system.

So, I think we can’t change a culture, but we need to have limits that not damage anyone. I appreciate to been born here. 

EARTH 2100

Hello, today I’m going to talk about the movie Earth 2100, it is a fatalist movie about what should happen if we keep our form of living, making a lot of polution and garbage. The idea of the film it’s show us how awful could be our future.

I think it is a typical north american’s movie, where United States it’s the center of the world, but the principal idea of the film it is important. The movie is very exaggerated, I think this crisis would happen in a lot of time, also, the film says in the year 2014 it is already happen weird things, and I don’t see anything yet, but it doesn’t mean that  I don’t know that we are in trouble about our relation with the nature. This film it is a kind of a futuristic documentary, so the information I think is rightful, a lot of smart people was interviewed to make a stage of what could happen, every answers of the planet, every reactions of the people is shown in the movie!

In my opinion, the idea to advance in the movie with the life of Lucy, is good, it is make it more realistic, and puts you in someone’s feet, how you are going to live if you don’t do nothing to change the world. These kinds of movies are very important to make the people understand how bad they do to the planet and especially for us that we are studying geography, so we care about the environment.

I want to tell my friends this facts of the movie:

 I really believe that we could put the end in our era, sometime it must end, and the argument about the end of some old cultures, like Mayans and Romans,  made me a lot of sense, then I understand, they never think about their cultures could be end, and we think the same. The history tells us that its going to happen us, in any moment.

Another thing, in the crisis, people its getting crazy, every one wants to save themself and forget all their principles and values who learned all their lifes. It’s going to be like a war, there will be massacres, I really don’t want to live in that moment.

The last thing that I want to tell is the fact that in some moment, we think that everything it’s ok, at least in the rich countries, everyone will have electric cars, green houses, people ride bikes, etc, the sustainable dream.  But it will be like an oasis in the desert, it will be short, and then, the crisis will come.

my summer :)

Hello! Well, this was a good summer, but not the summer that I expected, because I had problems and I couldn’t do that I planned for February, but I had a very good time, and it was really fun.

In January I went to camp of scouts, near of Chillán, I’m scout and I love it, it was very entertaining, I passed all the month in the nature doing activities for the kids,  and I passed a very good time with all my friends, I have too many nice memories about this camp, and I think it was the best of my holidays, but it was very exhausting, I came back to Santiago and I wanted to do nothing, only slept all day long.

Then, the journey that I expected all year came, I had working to earn money to travel through the south of Chile, but how I said before, something happened, my boyfriend hurts his knee very bad. I organized this trip with him, and he was very sad, so I couldn’t leave him alone and sad, and I didn’t want to went without him. So I stayed in the capital with him.

At first, we was very sad, but then we went to camp with his family, and passed a very good time together, besides we kept all the money that we had been used in the trip, so we were millionaire!, and enjoyed to the top, we ate very delicious food, like sushi!

After, all our friends begun to came back to Santiago, and we started hang out with them every day, we went to many parties and we passed a really good time all together.

I can say that it was a good summer in spite of the problems that happened!
